I Love First Peoples helps youth to push the boundaries of their creativity and to build for the future by introducing to entrepreneurship and enabling them to meet the challenges and reap the rewards of building a business.
I Love First Peoples connects communities with local sporting organizations to encourage fitness, to foster relationship with non-indigenous groups and to build confidence.
I Love First Peoples motivates children and youth toward education through lively celebrations, gift-filled shoeboxes, merit prizes and awards, and special programs that empower them for the future.
Each year in communities across Canada, we organize our signature back-to-school parties and celebration events for children and youth. They have come to anticipate these events, and their joy is truly heartwarming! Activities include: sporting games, inflatables, face painting, storytelling, a giant cake, backpacks for every child, and the gift shoebox distribution. Throughout the year, children who achieve milestones in learning are further rewarded with prizes and shoeboxes. In June, the children have an opportunity to give back, as they proudly show us their best work. We celebrate their successes with more games, prizes and certificates. Both the back-to-school and year-end celebrations attract a great number of parents. Within only two years, Kitiganik Elementary School in Rapid Lake, Quebec, noted a 30% increase in child enrolment.
Thank you to our many volunteers who make our celebrations possible!

In 2016, I Love First Peoples is thrilled to introduce public speaking training for all school-aged children and youth. We believe that effective communication is a key to success in life, and this new program will help the children to grow up confident in their ability to express themselves and to let their voice be heard.
FITNESS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
To help break the isolation of the youth on- and off-reserve, I Love First Peoples builds a bridge between them and organizations or businesses that provide educational and self betterment services. We establish collaborative projects with the consent of community leaders, to ensure that proposed activities are culturally appropriate.
In 2016, I Love First Peoples is proud to announce a partnership between the community of Rapid Lake (Quebec) and Soccer Outaouais. Soccer Outaouais will train and certify soccer coaches and then provide all of the children with free soccer equipment. As teams are formed, the children of Rapid Lake will have the opportunity to play friendly games with other soccer teams in their region. We hope to see the community have a soccer field in the near future.
In 2015, I Love First Peoples began a partnership with Action Santé, a gym in the city of Maniwaki, to provide high schoolers with a healthy after-school activity. The owner provided all who were interested with a free one-month membership, where he gave the youth personalized fitness and nutrition training. He then awarded one-year memberships to two students who demonstrated the greatest interest and commitment.
Each year our donors sponsor children who must leave their community to attend high school. Each child receives a backpack filled with the required school supplies and some running shoes. A child is sponsored beginning in grade 7 and for as long as he attends school. Sponsorship costs $150 per year. To sponsor a child, send your donation by mail or online, along with an email to specify the reason for your donation. In September, you will receive a picture of the child you are sponsoring.
In 2016, I Love First Peoples will work with youth to push the boundaries of their creativity and to build for the future as we introduce them to entrepreneurship, enabling them to meet the challenges and reap the rewards of setting up and operating their own business.
